We love to welcome families to our church. God loves families, so we aim to make children and parents feel at home.

At the moment during the ongoing restrictions, children stay with their parents/carers for Church. We have a children's talk in the middle of the service, and quiz sheets and colouring for the children to help them listen to the Bible talk. Also during the Bible talk there are items to spot! On Wednesdays a children's talk is emailed to parents.

Here's what normally happens...

Our children are very much part of the church family, and they are very welcome to join in for the whole meeting with their parent/carer. However, because we know having children in the meeting with parents  isn't always easy, babies and toddlers (0-3s) and children (4-11s) can go out for their own age specific Bible teaching time while the adults and young people listen to the talk. We think the Bible and fun go hand in hand, and we want the children to love Sundays, so the leaders work hard on teaching the children truths from the Bible in an engaging way. Our aim is to teach children about Jesus Christ and what it means to be a Christian.

We want kids at Church by the Bay to Cherish Christ, love Christ's Church and Change Christ's world, and so we call our small groups for children C3.

C3 kids (4-11s) have their own Bible Teaching time about halfway through Sunday morning. They follow the sermon series, the week after the sermon. They have Bible time, games and craft that help them meet Jesus Christ.

C3 tots (0-4s) sing, pray, have a time in the Bible also following the sermon series the week after , pray about what they've read, do some craft and enjoy playing together.

A safe environment

We provide a safe environment for children. Andrew and Bethany Steventon are our Safeguarding Officers. Our deputy Safeguarding officer is Catherine Straker. Our Safeguarding Policy is here.
