A New Term

The New Year has started and we have lots of regular and special events coming up this half-term at Church by the Bay.

Our 'Baby Grows' babies and toddler group runs every Thursday (starting Thursday 15th January), at our church building, 91 Balmoral Road. This group is for Mums, Dads, Grandparents and Carers of preschool children.

You will find a warm welcome whether you're a regular or coming along for the first time. At Baby Grows:

• Have lots of toys, books and colouring out for all age ranges of preschoolers to play with
• You and your little ones can enjoy tea, coffee, juices, toast and teacakes and it's all free
• We have a storytime where we read a story from a children's bible
• Then we do a craft-time related to the story
• We finish with a music time, with instructments and dancing

That's come around quickly! Our next Pub Quiz is on coming up on Friday 16th January, at the Alhambra Bar. This is a general knowledge pub quiz (so no bible questions or anything like that!), with drinks available from the bar and free snacks on the tables. We have a short talk from the bible half-way through, so you can hear a little about the Christian messsage.

January can be a dark, cold, depressing month after the buzz of Christmas has died down so this is a great way to get out and have a fun evening. Do invite others who you think would enjoy it.

As Christians, we want to offer out to others the good news of Jesus and the hope He offers. You can come along any Sunday to experience what Church is like and hear the good news of Jesus. But starting this Sunday, during our teaching time slot (12pm to 12:30pm) we're running a course called 'Christianity Explored' which is specifically for people who are wanting to look into what Christianity is really all about, or people who'd like to be refreshed in their Christian beliefs. Do come along on Sunday if you're interested. Church starts at 10:30am, the course will start after a break for refreshments after the church service at 12pm.
