Discipling children during Coronavirus
The first week of #StayatHome is nearly done. How has it been?

I just wanted to share a few things happening online to help you disciple your children...

‘If we as a family are making more time for Jesus, he will help us make sense of these strange days we’re living through, he’ll help us feel less disappointed about what we’re missing out on and more excited about what he has done for us and what he is doing for us through this coronavirus season of being locked away.’ Ed Drew

Join us for a song or two, some Bible time, and at least one joke. Cutlery Boy is particularly excited about it all.

Here's an easy way to get into the Bible with your family at home!

Ed and Jam are back - with a little help from their friends - looking at Ephesians Chapter 1 to find out how Jesus helps to get through some tough times together. We're not just in families in our homes (for who knows how long?). We're in the best family we could be in for ever! There are fun facts, a sketch and Amy Fights The Virus.

Listen together, enjoy and be encouraged.
You can find this podcast on Spotify and Apple Music
Episode 2 just came out this morning!

Kids’ Talks with Colin is a special new video series featuring short talks, Bible readings, prayers and of course, music!

This could be great for younger kids.

You can also find colouring sheets from Colin that go with his videos!

Cutlery Boy has adapted the excellent WONDER OF EASTER material from our friends at Faith in Kids into something for families to use together at home. There's 5 sessions for families to discover the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection as the most amazing story ever told! Find a new session each week as you get ready for Easter. Session 1 is available here

Why not take some time as a family to learn the core doctrines of the Christian faith via 52 questions and answers.

The free app also includes suggested Scripture readings, short prayers, and devotional commentary, as well as kid-friendly songs designed to help children memorize each question and answer.

And last but not least...

It's the Wingfeater Saga, Book 1 Readalong!

From Andrew Peterson: During this season when we get to spend extra time with our families, I’ll be hopping on Facebook live to read from my first The Wingfeather Saga book, “On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness.” I’ll start Friday night, March 20th at 7pm central and will continue every night until we finish the book.

Again (it's America time) but we can catch up the day after on Facebook!

Now there's been 7 nights already...but it's not too late to catch up, he's kept the videos up for as long as possible...if your kids aren't old enough...I'd recommend these books to you parents! We've been listening (almost) everyday in the Petersen house!

Here's how I feel about them:
These are the best books I've ever read. We love them in our house and are so thankful for how these stories have helped us love the most glorious true story we are in, the grandest narrative of all: God's story! For how they get us to feel and taste goodness, truth and beauty, which has helped us know and enjoy our good, true and beautiful Saviour all the more!

Speaking of Reading:

Amazon has cancelled the subscription of books and audio stories for children and students of all ages. As long as schools are closed, kids everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories. Head to Audible if you want to have a look.
