Mark: 6 Questions for 6 Verses

It may just be me, but I really struggle to “Connect” conversations to the gospel! There are sometimes moments, when I think: “this conversation is going in a great direction, I’m sure there was a good question I could ask to steer this towards Jesus…” and then moments pass and I say to myself: “agh, I forgot that question and now the conversation has moved on!” So, I realised what I needed was to be reminded of what some good connect questions there are - questions that will hopefully be lodged in my brain for those moments when the conversation might be going in a gospel direction. To aid me in this, I’ve picked one good question for each of the 6 verses we’re learning together in Mark. I have also described a situation where these questions would feel natural. The situations, questions and verses are as follows:

Clearly not all of these situations will happen to all of us. And these connect question won’t necessarily be the right question for the person you’re speaking with. But with the help of the Spirit, we can all use these questions to guide our conversations towards being able to say something from the Bible! So why not learn the main idea of each question with your verses? Perhaps the Lord will grant you the opportunity to ask one of them, followed by the chance to say: “Can I tell you what the Bible says about this?”
